MARKET TRENDS

Everyone is talking about the housing industry.  It seems the media provides a daily account of falling housing prices, foreclosures, mortgage crises, etc. But is the market really as bad as the media portrays it to be?That is a matter of opinion and location. It is true, Charlottesville currently has a lot of homes for sale and Sellers have to price their homes aggressively if they want to sell, but it's difficult to call that a crisis.A Seller is not going to make as much money this year as they might have if they sold in 2006, but unless they purchased at the height of the market, they probably still earned a considerable amount of appreciation and that's not really a crisis either.

The Charlottesville economy is good and the surrounding counties are growing as well.Greene County has a new Super WalMart under construction and Zions Crossroads just opened a new Lowes abd a new outlet mall is forthcoming. Charlottesville is getting a bigger Whole Foods market.Things are happening in and around Charlottesville, and if everybody would just stop talking about the so-called "crisis" we can put things in perspective.

RATES ARE LOW AND INVENTORY IS HIGH……IT'S A GREAT TIME TO BUY!
